2023 Sancerre La Noue Rosé, Domaine Claude Riffault
With a gorgeous orangey sunset hue, La Noue rosé has aromas of strawberries, summer meadow and subtle spicey and saline notes. Vinified with indigenous yeast (a non-negotiable for Stéphane) and raised in neutral oak barrels for extra aromatic and textural complexity, it’s immensely fresh and purposeful but with plenty of plush, juicy red and stone fruit. La Noue’s saline, mineral core really comes to the fore towards the finish, which is long and finely balanced. Simply outstanding.
