This is a joyful, ebullient red which Elena compares to a fine Cru Beaujolais. The use of 65% whole bunches super-charges Dolcetto’s characteristic red cherry and floral aromas. There are hints of spice too. The palate is stony and crisp – Elena describes her Dolcetto as a summer wine, which can be lightly chilled, and served with anything from pizza to a caprese salad. The ’23 Dolcetto was raised exclusively in steel tanks and cement, for maximum vivacity. This was the first wine we ever tasted from Penna-Currado and, quite frankly, it was love at first sip.
