Wonderfully expressive from the word go. Ripe red berry, floral and spicey aromas. Paolo describes Ciaurìa as an ‘everyday wine’ but its freshness and detail leave no doubt about his skill as a winemaker or the exceptional terroir of Mount Etna. Ciaurìa hails from a handful of parcels over 750 metres in altitude on Etna’s windswept north slope, with its complex volcanic soil. On the palate, the ’22 is as juicy as a perfectly ripe peach. It boasts lively acidity and a stony finish. Who could ask for more?
