“Eclat – a burst or sparkle – is a wholly appropriate monicker for this juicy, mouth-wateringly fresh Gamay. Strictly speaking, the clone here is Gamay Saint Romain, accounting the wine’s gorgeous peppery character. Made with 25% whole-bunch for added lift on the nose, it was raised in concrete tanks. Even in a warmer vintage like ’22, it weighs in at a highly civilised 12.5% ABV. A versatile food wine, try it lightly chilled.”
