2020 Predappio, Chiara Condello

Predappio is a playful and immensely appetising wine, with scintillating floral, black cherry and herbal aromas. Its mineral character and sheer freshness point to the vineyards’ limestone soils, while its silken tannins speak of Chiara’s expertise in the winery. She matures Predappio for a year in a combination of Slavonian oak casks – to round out the tannins, and build complexity – and steel tanks. There’s a touch of Sangiovese’s characteristic grip on the finish, which will have you reaching for the prosciutto. A wonderful introduction to one of Italy’s most up and coming regions and most talented young winemakers.
