2020 Côtes de Francs, Château Marsau
We think Château Marsau is one of the bargains of the wine world. In 2020 it’s particularly stunning, with a core of juicy fruit surrounded by layers of mineral, saline complexity, and lifted violet notes. This is an estate that seems to get better and better with each vintage, as Anne-Laurence refines her techniques from the vineyard through to the elevage, increasingly all in large Stockinger foudres. There’s a brilliant freshness throughout that is particularly gourmand and appetising in the excellent 2020 vintage. As ever, Marsau is 100% Merlot.
