The exquisite Bricco Pernice hails from a single parcel in the heart of the Ravera Cru. Partridges have been known to nest in this warm, sheltered spot, hence its name. It’s a wine that excels in cooler years like 2019. The ‘19 is already complex with pliant tannins, a tremendous weight of ripe fruit and hints of liquorish and spice, but Pernice is perhaps Cogno’s most age-worthy Barolo. It tapers nicely towards the finish with a lingering cherry stone sapidity. Raised for three years in cask and two in bottle
