2017 Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon, Leeuwin Estate
With aromas of graphite, cassis, liquorice and menthol, the sumptuous 2017 Art series Cabernet has really its stride. Medium-bodied but with plenty of ripe black berry fruit on the mid-palate, its freshness, fine tannins and sheer poise encapsulate the best of Margaret River, but will please devotees of Left Bank Bordeaux. Like its counterpart, the iconic Art Series Chardonnay, the 2017 Cab has really benefitted from an extra spell in bottle, becoming more supple and complex, and its mineral character becoming more prominent. Exemplary.
