We have loved this domaine since we set up Flint in 2006, but it seems it is now one of the most talked-about not just in Chassagne but also south of Beaune. Alex and his brother Benoit make a formidable team, and the wines seem to have a perfect mix of fruit intensity, weight, minerality and energy. Over the past decade, the élevage has been extended and the new oak more subtly handled, meaning the wines have become more elongated and refined with added complexity and length. At the top end, sadly, the brothers have had to dig up much of their beloved Ruchottes as the vines were just too old, but there are plenty of other 1ers Crus in the stable worth seeking out, and there is also a little Chevalier and Bâtard produced for those in the know.
